Ups, Downs, and All-Arounds

Going to do this one opposite of title. So here goes.


Got my blood test results. Low iron, low ferritin, low thyroid, and low CoQ10. (well, that explains a lot)
Love my new shoes. (Saucony Progrid Guide 6)
Person at work quit. (working all kinds of hours)
Had one of those holistic healers. (pegged my headache, bad eyes, and said pituitary gland)(also said spleen fine-I Don't Have One)
Managed to stop by every one of my friends pages and leave some kind of message, note, or goodie. (I am now behind on everything else)


I do not feel well at all. (one good run take 3 days recovery)
Working my tail off. (hopeful of 2 new emps)
Slowly slipping on food. (candy)
Slowly slipping mentally. (feel like crap, little hard to smile sometimes)


PMI (positive mental image- I Look Great)
PMA (positive mental attitude- I doing great, considering)
Still trying to climb (hey, crap runs downhill)
Still Pushing (very hard)
I know what's wrong (now I can fix it)
Have lots of great Spark friends (what a support group)
Developed my own frozen yogurt (Chocolate PB&J, 22 grams protein per cup)
Have I mentioned my new Shoes( WooHoo, I'm faster than a fifth grader)
Weight (holding between 174.2 and 179.2)
Kids will both be in honors classes next year (they take after me :) )
My house is clean (2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat)
My friend Spunky is shredding off the weight (not to make light of anyone else,but she was my first full friend here)
Just join the "Daily Achievements Team"
And can keep going, but I think you get the idea-

Had a bunch of LEMONS, so I threw them out and made PROTEIN BARS. Nothing special going on in my life, just trying to continue on for the next day. Hope everyone is doing well.

And, if you are not, Get Up, Push On, We're not here to Stay In Bed. emoticon emoticon

    Glad to hear you've IDed the problems and are on your way to fixing them!
    Surprisingly high iron-content foods: lentils, spinach, kale, artichoke hearts. I don't know about you, but the first 3 things on that list go into an awful lot of soups I make :)

    Thanks for the shout out. You have been such a good friend to me as well and I have enjoyed getting to know you better and watch you accomplish things that you don't give yourself credit for. What can I do to help? I know what it is like to work too many hours with no end in sight. Glad you got new shoes and some info on your health. Thyroid meds will help a ton. I had thyroid cancer in 2006 and I am very dependent on my thyroid medications...
    Glad to see that overall your up list is the longest :-) Are you getting a little bit of sun every day? Sometimes a 10 minute walk outside (not that you have time for that from the sounds of it) makes all the difference in the world.

    Would guess that the low iron, thyroid, etc would be contributing to your fatigue and general "not feeling well" When I was low on iron I would fatigue very quickly, but now that my level is back up, my energy level is back to normal! I'm sure you will feel great once you've corrected those things.

    Wow a clean house! My hero! That's almost impossible to do with kids.

    I'm so glad you reached out for medical help when you realized something just wasn't right. A lot of people don't and just try hard to push and push which hurts them more in the long run. Exercise is healthy but sadly you have to have a certain level of health before you can do it.

    If you are having a craving just message a SP friend I'm sure any of your great friends would love to help you out.

    If you're feeling like you're mentally slipping, same thing applies. You are right, you have a great support system, make sure you use it to help you stay the course. We're here for kind words when you blog but we are also here to help when you need it.

    It pays to focus on them because the Downs are temporary.

    I cheer you, my friend! I especially marvel at the fact that you have a clean house with 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 2 kids. I have two dogs and only half a kid (he's only at our house about half a week)...and I honestly believe the saying:

    Trying to clean your house when you live with dogs (and kids!) is like trying to brush your teeth while eating Oreos.

    Good job on all those UPS and AROUNDS - and here's to those DOWNS being turned around!

    I guess you really like your shoes! emoticon I could sure use a new pair. I'm no Imelda Marcos or however you spell her name. I like kick-around, don't worry about stepping in mud or muck shoes; comfy sneakers; and it would be nice to have something a little dressier than both for special occasions. I don't have the latter, and the comfy sneakers are getting a bit tattered. Trouble is I have large wide flat feet - I need arch support and toe room. Too bad I'm not a duck.
