Hey everyone,

I just got back from a 12 day vacation last night and it is very surprising I am excited and back to real life. If you have read my previous post I also had a stress fracture in my foot so I have been unable to run ( my favorite or rather most effective way to exercise for me). So I didn't do much of any exercise when I was away which I was scared of because I was also eating food in which I didn't know the calorie counts in a ton of it...I could guess but sometimes in other countries then use a lot of ingredients you are not familiar with.

The first few days I was there I had a couple drinks, add a smoothie with dinner this sort fot hing and then I realized that I am not exercising and while this is all fine and good while i am here I do not want to go home and have a 10 lbs weight gain so I had self control but still ordered things I wanted to eat but with healthy side options for one meal a day, the rest of the day ( breakfast and lunch) I mostly ate fresh fruit with the occasional piece of multigrain toast but mostly papayas and mangoes (yum!) so I definitely felt that I was on vacation and not deprived at all! So because I this I was expecting to come home maybe only gaining a couple pounds or hopefully no difference on the scale as I was pretty sure with the lack of exercise and different food I would gain at lest a bit.

Then yesterday in the airports, we had 3 different flights on the way home and we ate really badly ( weird airport snacks and a bit of Chinese food which had so MUCH sodium i was worried I would retain like 5 lbs of water!) THis was yesterday.

I weighed in this morning and I was down 6 lbs from when I left!!!!! I am beyond excited. I thought my arms looked a bit slimmer in the mirror when I was on vacation but I convinced myself it was the tan ( brown fat looks better than white fat ;) don't worry I used 60SPF religiously and was still tanned). SO YOU CAN GO ON VACATION INJURED AND LOSE WEIGHT!!! you just have to be conscious that there is a return date and you want a happy scale date when you get home! I am really excited and pumped to have a great and healthy week!

Sounds like a blast of a holiday. Sorry to hear of your injury though.
You displayed great self control and discipline. I doubt I would be successful when I go on holidays or during festival celebration and not gain a little weight.
But I make sure I lose those extra weight fast once I am back. emoticon
