Day #256 - Why should I be discouraged??? Change Gone Come

Thursday, March 07, 2013

My weigh in resulted in a .5 gain or 1# gain the same pound I loss last week! Body Fat the same. God says to cast my cares on Him for He cares for me and to lay my burdens at His I have. I don't weigh without having a talk with the Lord on my way to the scale. Even in the car this morning I had to take a moment to talk with Him when I felt that low spirit trying to set in.

Yesterday: Treadmill w/inclines for 60 minutes. Was a struggle the back was hurting but I made it. Elliptical 30 minutes was only planning to do 15 but... Squats 35, Jacks 10; plank 45 seconds and weights 5 & 8#s

Today: Gym or Wogging, 45 second plank, 40 squats, 10 jacks and whatever my strength training is for today.

Funny thing ... I'm excited about getting to my workout today. Its almost that feeling of you're not going to beat me... Change Gone Come (Sam Cooke)!!

My upper body is definitely feeling the weight lifting and push-ups. I started doing my jacks yesterday and I think my arms was like "REALLY" emoticon you want me to flap up and down too?!!! Then I asked them to do push-ups...I got to get past struggling to do 12 knee down push-ups emoticon by the time I hit 8 I'm really pushing to make it to 12. Forget trying a 2nd set--- not there yet.

Well I do realize I'm older and this body is trying to act that way, but I refuse to live my life according to what age dictates in some peoples eyes. But anyway...we move forward and will keep keeping on...I know change is gonna come...I feel it some days, some times, some moments. I know with the weight lifting muscle is being developed, fat is been shifted. As I continue building muscle many articles/information states it fuels fat burning more efficiently. So I will continue to lift, squat and eventually lunge.

Birthday is in : 41 days
One Year Celebration: 109 days

In all this time I've lost 15#s and dropped from a 20 bottom to a 18. 9 months equals about 1.6#s per month. Now if that's not sloooooowwwww and steady what is?

I've also gained momentum and a spirit of consistency
Went from 10-20 minutes on treadmill to an hour
Went from 10 minutes on elliptical to an hour
From a 10-15 second plank to 45 seconds
From not drinking water to drinking 60 ounces or more a day
Completed a 5K 3 weeks after major surgery within a minute of my former time 3 yrs ago.

Well I guess I need to take away 2 months for my surgery and recovery time in September and October. But I won't...

That last part was for I can see that there have been accomplishments. My hard work will one day begin to pay-off like I would like it too. I shall press on through the month of March. I got a little over 2 months to finish the year out strong.

I take any suggestions, encouragement and comments as trinkets sent from above, so feel free to share.

I think it is important to remind yourself that you did have two months of physical turmoil which prevented you from working the way you wanted to. I hope you feel the difference that all of your hardwork has made in your mind, body and spirit despite the 15#s. You can do things that you could not do before and so it is worth it and it is worth a lot more than the scale says.

I love the Sam Cooke reference!! And it is so right on time. Your attitude is contagious. I sometimes feel the same way about my "old" body. I, like you, will not let my age limit what I can do or should look like.

You workout like a crazy person so I don't know why you are not losing! Now that you are tracking your food, look at it & see if you are getting enough fruits & veggies. I try to load half my plate with fruits & veggies. You got this so I know the weight will come off. Change WILL come!!!
