Reaching For The Stars!!!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you're all healthy & well! The new year is in full swing & we're anticipating the arrival of Spring!!! Not soon enough for most, I hear!!! Well, let's just put it right out for all to see, shall we?!!

I'm down 2.0 lbs this week!!! emoticon
Total of 29.4 so far since I joined WW's!!!

I'm feeling great & the week went well! I'm still struggling w/keeping in range w/carbs & proteins...but overall, I did much better! Honestly, I've been very busy w/packing & volunteering & shopping!!! So, the week just flew by! I'm eating well...& continue to eat healthy & make good choices! I've increased my intake of fruits & veggies & that's working well! It's been chilly here (oh, I know...I'm not complaining!) & I've made chili, veggie soup, & chicken stew this week! Yum!!! All good to the last drop!!!

I'm in training for a 5K in May...& I'm getting my speed up! I continue to enJOY my Spinning class at the Y! I'm LOVIN' the Spin!!! I've incorporated lifting free weights a couple of days in the gym prior to the Spin Class so I can make certain I'm getting my ST in! It's true that when you build & maintain muscle, your body continues to burn more calories, even at rest! Maintaining muscle mass is crucial to weight loss! It also helps maintain a healthy blood sugar! All good!!!

Oh, we bought a new car yesterday! A 2013 Honda CRV! A beautiful car, I must say! And the best part is...
No more car shopping!!! emoticon It's done!!!

Still packing...still moving at the end of the month! Exciting but crazy! And my youngest daughter comes for a visit on the 19th! Oh, I hope the temps improve so we can do the beach while she's here! I haven't seen her since October, so I'm so awaiting her hugs!!!

So, all is well in my world! I hope the same goes for yours, my friends! Plan this week is to remain sane & stay the course!!! I would LOVE to reach that 30 lbs gone, finally!!! WooHoo!!! Now, wouldn't that be nice!!!!

    AWESOME! You are KILLING it! Woo hoo! I'm so proud of you. You are really making great progress! I'm "running" at a 4.0 now and not pushing up to the 4.5. It took my knees a week to recover from the last 4.5 runs. But I am wondering if it is because I did not stretch afterwards. Now, I am doing the 6 stretches recommended for runners after the run. (Did you know that it is NOT recommended that you stretch BEFORE a run? I thought that was interesting.) The 6th stretch works on the ligaments around the knee and I think that is the key one that I need after a run. Keep up the good work! Can't wait to do our run together! Thanks for the encouragement!     Rose you can do iy you are just so determined to get there. I hope you have great plans for your edaughters visit with you, have a splendid time. Spring is still a ways away for us but it is Maine.

    So we can't hurry Mother Nature.

    You are so right about maintaining muscle mass while losing weight.
    I'm pretty sure the predicament I'm in (very high body fat % and difficulty losing wt) was caused by the 25- 30 years I yo-yo fad- dieted every Jan- April with no emphasis on building muscle. When the wt inevitably came back every June- Dec, it came back as pure fat.
    I refuse to give up- I am eating as low calorie and as helathy as I can whilst building muscles every day.

    emoticon I joined W/W about 6 weeks ago.. I'm down 10.4 pounds...
    but its still a struggle... I still have bad days..but we'll do this
