Yesterday I had the most fun I have EVER had in a doctor's office! LOL

First, I have to tell you that I finally did it...

I went to a local "salon professional academy"and had my hair done. It is red, and a lot shorter, a layered cut with bangs. THAT was fun... and I'm working on pictures, the selcam stuff isn't coming out so I need to find someone to take them for me...

Second, the REAL fun...

I saw my neurologist yesterday. He thinks the involuntary movement is due to impingement on the nerve, probably from carpal tunnel or a similar problem--but the only way to confirm that is with an EMG, and that can't be done until the ligament situation is resolved--and I had an appointment for today anyway to see the surgeon about THAT... So... here's the fun part:

Last time I saw him, we talked briefly about pain control, and I mentioned that I use singing as a distraction or meditation focus, and he mentioned his daughter was a singer in the local high school programs, and said that I'd have to sing for him sometime.

So yesterday, I did!

When the secretary called to confirm the appointment, I asked about setting up background music, and she said that they could pull up YouTube in one of the offices for me, and that's what we did. I sang Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" for the doctor and a couple of his staff members!

They loved it--the doctor grinned and said "you've done that a few times!" and that it was a first, he'd never had a patient sing in his office before! I laughed--I sing it all the time and drive my neighbor's five year old nuts (He wants me to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star!" LOL) One of the nurses said I should go on American Idol, I'd beat them all! I'm still laughing... it felt so good! On my way out the door, the receptionist asked if I'd sing her a little bit, as she was down the hall and thought they'd turned on the radio! I sang her a line from "Somewhere Over the Rainbow..." --it was easier to sing without the music! LOL I was on an adrenalin high for a few hours after that... emoticon emoticon

If I can ever figure out the details, I want to try recording and posting... but I've been so busy with doctors and cleaning details that there has barely been time to breathe! LOL

I miss my workouts, so I'm hoping the surgeon starts some rehab or something--I need that hand working again. It's pretty sore still, so I'm not sure what's going to happen today-- but more than anything else, the muscles are very weak...

At least my house looks halfway decent--though I'm still finding things put away in the oddest places... It has become a game trying to figure out what they did with some of it--I am NEVER going to figure out why! LOL I'm just grateful...

I hope all of YOU find something to laugh at today...LOL

Be well!

Sounds fun. You know the old Carrie Grant movie where he asks "Why doesn't the main character hear the scary music and run?" I think it is because they have singers and other performers in their home. I love the music that happens in life. I think it is awesome that you would be willing to sing for the doctor.

Hope it helps with the pain and you feel better soon.
