How am I going to encourage myself? I thought about this long and hard and here is what I came up with. I let go. I let go of the need to be perfect. I let go of the need to try and control everything. After I let go I will give myself permission. Permission to make mistakes. Permission to think about myself. Permission to like myself. How will this help? It will help by letting me be me....... not what everyone wants me to be. That will mean I won't have to stuff down my feelings.

Great thinking! Successful people leave room (and sometimes plenty of it) for failure. Welcome to success! While my hubby can eat major junk food (candies, mega cheeses, regular pizza, powdered sugar donuts, chips, etc) I concentrate on a healthy fare of freggies (fruits and veggies) with lean protein and whole grains having taken 5 years to lose 100 lbs. 1-1/2 years later, and I'm only 10 pounds from a healthy BMI. It seems it may be a constant struggle on one sort or another, but it's manageable. Your permission may be that first step on that road to success that ultimately will lead to greater joy, happiness, and peace. Hug, hug - Evelyn

It's so hard isn't it? Just want to encourage you. One thing that helped me was looking in the mirror, several times a day, day after day, especially the hard days, and tell myself that I am beautiful, I am a child of God and I am loved. It has helped me tremendously. God's blessings! emoticon

Allowing yourself to be you is not only encouraging, but it's also maybe the best gift you can possibly give yourself.

Good blog. I also need to let go of the need to be perfect - it just creates problems when you slip a little. (But I am working on it!)
