Baby's down for his nap, I finished HIIT 15
and am settling up with a hot cup o coffee
while watching it snow outside so I thought I would do a quick blog update on how things went for the weekend.
Overall, I think my weekend went good food/fitness wise. I tracked daily
but didn't cycle
I am going to hit the calorie cycling hard this week. I got some fish oil supplements and have been taking them religiously every day (a great undertaking for me... I am not good at taking pills minus my prenatal when I was preggo). I got my workouts in
got my hair cut
and did a pedi yesterday afternoon while the kids played and baby napped.
Hubs left for his out of town work trip so I see this week going seamlessly. He will get in late Friday night so again, I am faced with the traditional weekend challenge of not filling my face with mindless snacking. I will figure something out to combat that this weekend.
I met my cousins for lunch Saturday -- eating out is always a challenge for me, I tend to find ways to justify eating more than I know I should since I rarely eat out. The restaurant we ate at is not my favorite but has your traditional greasy diner foods. I did well, though. I ate half of a patty melt, a few chips, drank water instead of soda and brought my piece of pie home to hubs.
I went out yesterday and got a protein supplement that I like a lot. Then today I spent some of my birthday money that my dad sent me. I have had a hard time figuring out what I want so I got a Magic Bullet -- something I've wanted for awhile, but never got. Simply stated, I think I am in
I can see that little appliance getting a ton of use. I made a fruit and veggie smoothie for my little guy, blended up one for me and fixed an egg, two egg whites, a half of a bell pepper, red onion and 2 basil leaves and whipped that up for a veggie scramble that I put on an Ezekiel tortilla with some Coleman bacon on top. Deliciously satisfying!
I've figured out a calorie cycling plan for myself. I am going to go higher on my lifting days since I am so freaking hungry when I lift and lower on my cardio days and my day off. Here's what I came up with:
Mon - 1700 (ST/HIIT)
Tue - 1250 (cardio)
Wed - 1600 (ST/HIIT/Yoga)
Thur - 1350 (Cardio)
Fri - 1600 (ST/HIIT/Yoga)
Sat - 1350 (Cardio)
Sun 1300 (Rest)
I will give that a shot and make adjustments if needed. I feel pretty good about things. I feel like I am on the right path. I really would like to see some downward movement on the scale and the measuring tape
I know that the food is key for me to really see some changes. I have proven over the last year and a half that eating whatever I want and working out hard doesn't net me a loss, just maintenance. I maintain well, weight loss is hard for me. I know that at the ripe ol age of 37, 40 is breathing down my neck and it is only going to get harder unless I make the simple choice of improving in that category. I'll hit it, I know I will. I feel good about my plans for reaching my goal weight. Ideally, I would love to see 135, but I will be happy with 140. First things first, my first goal is to see 154 by my final weigh in for March.
