Here's something I haven't done in quite a while-- tracking my food. I've been guesstimating and keeping that running in my head most days but I haven't actually sat down and *tracked* in... weeks? Months? I don't know. [Probably just weeks, maybe a month, but it feels like longer.] Obviously, I'm doing /something/ right, at least partially, because my weight hasn't gone up. But it also hasn't really gone down, either. Hmm, I wonder why that could be.
So, I just sat down and tracked all my food for the day. Okay, it's almost 11pm and yes, I should've actually been tracking all day for best results. But it honestly just occurred to me, "Hmm maybe I would be more successful if I actually kept track of my calories again!" [How's that for smarts?] So, instead of leaving it to start on tomorrow, I sat down and wrote down everything I ate today. Too much ice cream and not enough veggies, but I wrote it all down. And the surprising thing? I only went FIVE calories over my daily limit! Go me! I was expecting much worse, to be honest. What a great way to get me back into tracking, though. I love positive endings!
If you're wondering what I've been up to, I recently celebrated my one year healthy anniversary, which I blogged about here: fuchsiagetsfit.blogspot.
and just yesterday, I ran a 5K [the first of a three 5K series, the other two are next Saturday and Sunday], which I wrote about here: fuchsiagetsfit.blogspot.
Spring is just around the corner, and I've been getting out more [both running and even a little biking], and I'm excited for warm days and planting my garden! Oh, and also for fruits and veggies to be cheaper. The prices this winter have been KILLING my budget every month [but I did find asparagus today on sale for $1.88/lb so guess what I'll be eating all week]. Anyway, I'm revitalized with the onset of spring. Hibernation is over, it's time to go back into full-on weight loss mode!
