10mile hike up a misty mountain

Sunday, March 03, 2013

well I said I was going to walk and the new fit bit one Nikki got me has been a great motivator!!! I have walked over 50 miles this past week.

I decided that I would go out for the day this sunday and the rain was NOT going to stop me (oh no) so I put on all my wet weather gear and my willies and off I went. This is the first walk I have done solo as Nikki really can't walk that far any more, she is waiting for replacement hips. I have to say it was a bit lonely really, as you will see the weather didn't help!

I didn't walk all the way to Bowglas as I would have had to walk all the way back again to get to the car, so I went roughly half way.

this is the hide where you can (on a clear day) see golden and sea eagles. It was a great place to step out of the rain for a while.

nikki says it all looks a bit grim!

I think the best thing about the walk though was the silence, there really wasn't a sound except me tromping along splashing through the puddles!

Looks so awesome!! I love days like that. If it can't be sunny, it should be really gloomy!

You have done fantastic, you will need new wellies soon as they will be worn out. For me the pictures remind me of long Sunday drives when every thing was closed and it was my dads only day off and as a family we seemed to drive for miles looking at very similar views to your blog. It always seemed to be drizzle.
You must have logged up a lot of fitness mins well done emoticon emoticon
