Day 1, 10 minute daily exercise streak/5k practice

I just did my first practice walk. I mapped a route just a skoch over 1.5 miles (1.57), and part of that on a hill, and came in a skoch under 30 minutes (29.5 gosh darnit!). That works out to 3.2 mph, which meets my goal of anything over 3 mph :) Even in bad shoes and galoshes and dodging cars (thanks, snow...).

My calves do hurt, and started hurting earlier than I would have hoped, but I took the opportunity to stretch, and that will get better. (I stretched on the stairs and my cat stood on the landing and tried to nuzzle me the whole time. Goofy little kitty.)

So, that went ok. I have to have realistic expectations, it's going to take me a while of consistent practice to get back to where I was.
