Walking Again

Saturday, March 02, 2013

Walking seems to be the only exercise I can do right now. Next week I'm going to try Yoga. I'm pretty concerned because I used to do Tai Chi but I don't have the strength to do it anymore. My legs go week and shake when I hold the positions. Hopefully the Yoga will help with this. I'm up to walking 30 minutes so can get a little over a mile in.
Trying to keep from procrastination and do something! So this is the bad habit I'm trying to overcome: Finding ways to get out of exercise!
Trying to keep positive so any help I can get is appreciated. Thanks to all my Spark friends for being so loyal. Hugs to you all.
Linda

To get into the daily habit of walking will lead to strong muscles and lead to a desire to keep on going. emoticon

You have come a long way, and walking for 30 minutes a day is GREAT! Good for you for realizing that procrastination is your weakness - so many of us share this, but refuse to admit it is a problem for us!

emoticon Walking is good and strengthens the legs.
Make sure you are eating enough of the right carbs before you exercise and in good time before you start. Yoga is a good strengthening exercise over time, keep trying but stop if it is too painful and try again later. Sometimes I cannot do it early in the day, but in the evening I have loosened up and it seems to work especially after walking. Its very relaxing so put on some good music and try again! emoticon

OH WOW !! U are SO FORTUNATE !! U CAN WALK !!!!! I ADMIRE THIS !! U may NOT think that "Walking" is something to REALLY think about,, after all almost everyone can do this, without THOUGHT !!! Its a ALMOST A right afterall,,,and from ur post though, I wonder if you've ever really given this a thought?

I AM NOT WHINING !! Just pointing out to you,, what a GIFT YOU HAVE !! WOHOOOO !! For though I cant really walk,,,I have MANY other gifts in life !! AND I CELEBRATE EACH OF THEM !! WOOHOOO ! Happiness being the BeST and family LOVE UP THERE with the love/peace of Jehovah of course, which is what makes it ALL WORTH WHILE.

SO you would LIKE to do more? Set this AS A GOAL,,, how will REACH THIS Goal? TINY Steps to get there,,,,,, but, KEEP UP the walking,,,, there's a NEW discussion group on the team page,,, to do with reaching out to do a 5K. Are you capable of expanding ur walking? WOOHOOO IMAGINE THAT !!! Many once thought "I COULD NOT DO THAT ! I am simply NOT healthy enough ! I'd TIRE OUT WAY TO FAST" Etc,,,but found out they CAN DO IT !! (if health probs exist, plz check with Doc first !)

With the yoga,, there are A LOT of vids on SPARKS and ALSO on Youtube,,, you can do for FREE ! I am sure you must also have your OWN ??? or can take out at that library for FREE !!! Than WORK up to the type you REALLY WANT ! its clearly a SteP at a time,, LOL So to speak !

You can do this! I see that you lost weight this week so you must be doing something right. One day at a time, one step at a time. Keep up the great work!
