1) What new habit you wish to develop?

Saturday, March 02, 2013

This is clear to me. The habit I would like to develop is closing the kitchen, after dinner, except for a pre-planned snack. I have been an evening grazer & I want to move on. Running at 6:30 or being at school is a help, but I am really laying it out there now. It's time to suck on a water bottle in the evenings instead of cramming my face. Tonight will be an easy start.
Best of luck, with your new habits, to all of the 5% Challengers & all of the Sparkers out there.
We can do this!!!!!

The evenings are always where I go wrong too. Today is (once again) Day 1 of trying to break that habit for me.

I sit here on the computer in the evenings and rack up Sparkpoints instead of eating. I don't get much accomplished, but at least it keeps my mind off of food. emoticon emoticon

I have gained in the last few months and am closing the kitchen in the evenings, too. Also, since today was in the 70's and this week it should be in the 70's and 60's the entire week, I am also getting up about 30 minutes earlier and going walking before school with my granddaughter. Good Luck, Gail!

I find evenings hard when hubby is on nightshifts. I have stopped buying anything I know I am going to eat without thinking, plus I have even been known to go to bed at 8 so I won't do it....I NEVER take food or drink to the bedroom...lol emoticon emoticon emoticon

I know what you mean! I am about to have herbal tea "Relax tea" and will have a tablespoon of almond butter if I start to feel hungry. That is supposed to help you sleep better. Good luck!!! emoticon

Your blog reminded me of how I stopped the eating before bed.

My husband was the highway superintendent and put in long hours during the winter months. Most nights he would head for bed by 8:00 PM. For me that was the time to settle in for TV & popcorn or a bowl of cereal or ice cream or cold pizza..........well you get the picture.

Since he retired he can stay up later. Then he had to have shoulder surgery. Since it is now too painful to sleep in bed, his reclining chair seems to be his sleeping choice. This chair is in our family room, which is all open to the kitchen. This put an end to my night time eating. I'd open the fridge door the light would come on and I was caught in action. I can't pour a bowl of cereal. It is too noisy. I hate to say it, but his pain was a good tool for me to stop my night time grazing.

    You can do it!
