My First Week of the Shred Diet

I started the Shred Diet last Wednesday. I had went a month in a bit of a plateau, and was hoping to jump start my weight loss effort again. I had read about Dr. Ian Smith's new plan on some blog, and was intrigued. It used real, normal food. Didn't require crazy ingredients. It looked very healthy. It also works well with my current exercise plan. So, I started it.

Now that one week is down, I can say it is very doable. It does require planning. It helps to look ahead during the week, so you have the fruit, vegetables, and ingredients required for your meals. I can also say that it seems to work. I am DOWN 2 POUNDS! Being someone who has hypothyroidism and an iffy relationship with weight loss, this is thrilling. This plan is supposed to rev your metabolism, I think it might be working. I will update each weak to talk about how things go. emoticon

    Congrats to you on your results...I too started last wednesday today. I didnt get the results you did though, but I do feel stronger and better about myself. I ate well all week and exercised with great effort, even skipping one of the rest days. I started at 147.9 today weighed in at 147.0 - gonna keep positive...

    Good job on the first week - I also have hypothyroidism. Have you also been able to workout every day? I was able to stick to it really well on the first week, then I travelled and didn't do so well for 3 days -- didn't blow it, but didn't get the meals and snacks as you're supposed to and probably had more sodium than I should But I was down 4. I really hope your weighin gives you great news and encouragement -- I think working out is key for me - it makes me more aware of what I eat -- and the price we pay to work it off. I like Turbofire, Jackie Warner, Jari Love DVDs but have a collection of course.

    a lot of people like the shred. I can't do it as a lot of the foods on it I can't eat now
