Rest Day

Ahh, the blessed moment (or day) of rest..

Wednesdays have become a rest day for me mostly out of necessity. I work 'til 4:30 and then go home, get supper ready, eat with my family and it's time to leave for AWANA and youth group which dh and I help out with. We get home around 9 p.m. and are ready to relax and sleep. I've come to appreciate the day since it allows my body a time out from formal exercise, so I can get back to all my activities on Thursday.

I know some people don't take a rest day, but I've always found it necessary to my physical and mental health. God knew what he was doing when he instructed us to take time out to rest ourselves. Our minds and bodies need a time to regroup and relax so they can function properly the rest of the time.

I almost forgot to share my other NSV from yesterday. I did the treadmill workout again...
4.0 for 5 min at 5% incline
6.0 for 3 min at 2% incline
7.0 for 1 min at 2% incline
3.0 for 1 min at 10% incline

Except this time I did it at the actual speeds listed...I didn't slow it down AND I did 3 sets of this instead of the 2 I did before!!! I was so proud of myself for not quitting and so thankful God gave me strength for it. I just wanted to cry with joy. It was AMAZING!
