Finally some snow!

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

I have never liked snow, I hate the icey aspect of it. But this was looking like the 2nd yr of a pretty pitiful winter. We got 4.4 inches yesterday and it was so pretty!
This morning from our upstairs window, looking at the park.

Salad mix is 2 weeks old and looking like mixed greens finally, some leaves are pinkish, came so fast! Scott is starting a african violet baby nursary. This older woman he met thru his job gave him a bunch of leaves to start.

I talked my dad the other day about his mother's TOPS meeting in their basement when he was a kid. He said there was this one woman who lost weight super slowly, like 1 lb a week. When all the other women were losing more but going back and forth gaining as well. He said by the end the woman losing slowly had lost more than anyone in the group. Kinda fun to hear his memory of this happening in his basement when he was a kid.

I watched my bosses daughter yesterday while she was home sick. I tried impressing her with my grilled cheese skills mixing colby with swiss. She was unimpressed, she asked why it was so stringy and so cheesy and ate 1/3rd of it. She insisted I make my own and had me eat it on her little plates. There is something to be said for eating a 7 yr old's portion even tho I still ate twice as much as she did if not more. I can see why parents gain weight eating children's leftover they barely touch.

Exercise has been good lately. Monday I ran 3 miles on a treadmill at the gym before hitting water aerobics, that feels NICE! I came home completely drained. Last night I was pretty low on steps but I felt crappy all day and went to bed at 9:30. Got almost 9 hrs of sleep. Oh ya and we got Chinese take out, weight is up what a surprise! I always wants Chinese take out when I am not feeling well, mushroom chicken.

Have a good week you guys!

    Love the snow photo!!

Whenever I've babysat, I'd start the kids with a half sandwich. If they were hungry, then I could make a second half. I'm weird about eating leftovers with other people's bites unless I heat it up, what can I say. I would have been like that as a mom too!

That said, I do share food with close friends, especially dessert - but that's with a fork. Don't know why but that makes a huge difference for me!!

I think everyone down here got your snow. My dad got a ton this year. I think it's pretty coming down and shortly after but I tire of it quickly.

We are having flurries for 4 days. It is so gloomy!!!

Love the indoor garden. We have not started ours yet. Hubby wants to scale back as he says there is always some disaster lately that keeps us from tending to it so we are negotiating what we will grow. I want cucumbers and cabbage. My son wants tomatoes. Not sure what hubby wants.

Culinary skills are wasted on the very young. They live on chicken nuggets and cull decent food.

What a beautiful picture from your house. Wish I overlooked a park. The snow yesterday was really pretty but I'm soooo ready for spring and warmer weather.
Every time you post pictures updates of your veggies and flowers it makes me want to grow some too but I live in a condo so I'm not sure what I can actually grow on a balcony. Great workout Monday and good job on getting some good sleep.

Wow great job Julie! I love your salad greens! They are taking off fast!

I can't help but laugh at your comment about eating your kids' leftovers, because I just finished Anna's last pancake they she couldn't finish. Luckily they were Spark-friendly and it was only one.

I haven't run in over a week! My ankle is flared up really badly right now. I'm going to try wearing the brace for a few days and see if it gets better.

The snow has been lovely. I put a bunch of ISU pics on Twitter yesterday. So pretty. :)
