Affirmations to "Conscious Eating":

The first step in conscious eating is being aware of your triggers. If you think you are guilty of unconscious eating (I am) here’s something to put on the fridge:

I will not eat food I don’t need.

I will not reward myself with food.

I will not medicate with food.

I will not allow situations, circumstances or other people to influence or dictate the way I eat.

I will not rationalize poor eating.

I will not lie to myself or others about my eating behaviors.

I will not eat in secret.

I will not repeat the mistakes of my past.

I will not allow my mind or emotions to sabotage my physical potential

I will eat consciously

Conscious eating is about reconnecting with the body.

It’s about stopping the cycle of lies and excuses.

It’s about slowing down and paying attention.

It’s about honoring and respecting the gift that is the body.

emoticon emoticon When we eat consciously, our body, mind and emotions all work in perfect harmony. emoticon emoticon

emoticon This is something that I will need to print out and tape to the fridge. It is also a daily confirmation I need to say everyday. emoticon

    I'm so glad I stumbled across this blog. I totally need it. I totally know what my trigger foods are and yet I still think that I can handle them.

    I will not lie to myself or others about my eating behaviors. This is the statement that I'm working on overcoming. If I'm honest, then that WILL change my behavior.

    EXCELLENT JOB !! WOOHOOOO !! I had something like this on my fridge a few yrs ago,,, and IT WORKED SO WELL !!

    JUST IMAGINE that on WEIGH IN DAY that emoticon goin DOWN !! DOWN DOWN !! ALL cos you SKIPPED some CHIPS, ICE cREAM, COOKIES, etc, and now that its been days (or a few hrs later) Do you REALLY Miss those things in ur mouth??? In general even 1 hr later the answer is NO I DO NOT !!!! BUT !! if we EAT THEM even 24 hrs LATER, we are FEELING ,,, BINGO,,, GUILTY !! is that GUILT WORTH IT ?? Especially on WEIGH in day?

    But if we SKIPPEd those things,,, the emoticon we HAVE and SPREAD to OTHERS as we TELL THEM and as the team see's it ,, WOWZERS !!!!!! HUH? NEATO !!! Of course there WILL be times that weight DOES FLUCUATE and you can NOT beat urself UP if you have eaten correctly,, so PLZ DO NOT !! or if you had just a LITTLE cheats and it does. WE ALL Eat a FEW things,, that's HUMAN NATURE, but IN CONTROL and in its RIGHT portions, which are REALLY VERY SMALL (1/2 cup of ice cream , 12 chips, 2 oreo's ) and that's IT to have 2 treats a week,,, we are NOT SUPER humans,,,, and you CAN NOT STARVE Urself of goodies,,, if you haven't read the book "THE SPRAK" I HIGHLY Recommend you buy it IF AND ONLY IF you can afford it on AMAZON.COM ,,, last I knew it was 12.95. OR you MAY be able to find it at your local library. :)

    Love this blog!! Last night after dinner my son and I had a yogurt.. We passed on the ice-cream!!! He has his Track season starting up on Friday and I want to get this weight off my body!!! GO DAWGS!!! WE CAN DO IT!!! Hugs, Moni emoticon emoticon

    "I will eat Consciously!" because, truth be known I'm pretty much unconscious when I'm eating and especially when I eat junk.
    I will slow down and pay attention, to my body and myself to discern what is really going on and what I really need to be doing, having, saying, being.
