Last night went well. However, i am somewhat concerned that our youth pastor chose to encourage some of our students to skip the first hour of the fellowship to play ball with our men after church last night. it was rather awkward having them come in late, after most of the festivities were done.

Please pray for us as we try to work out some challenges with this particular area of ministry in our church. I am not sure that our part-time youth pastor sees the big picture.

Thanks for your prayers

You may want to have a conversation with parents and children involved to see how they feel then setting some guidelines , as you should have the support of parents and input of children involved . Prayers for you and all involved .

Yeah! It's important to be on the same page. I would make sure he knew that is not encouraged. Kids need to realize that sometimes we have to do the less fun stuff as well as the fun stuff (or the uninteresting vs the interesting), and it sounds like they might get the wrong idea by being told to skip the first part and come to the last.

I'll pray for your church. It's hard sometimes, when we all have different ideas, and ways we were raised and so on to communicate without causing hard feelings. I pray that everything will be solved according to God's will. emoticon

Tell him to check with you before just deciding something like time.
He may not realize it was an issue.

Sorry for you that this challenge isn't solved yet. This situation does need some prayer.

Maybe the kids see things better than the youth pastor. Might it be possible to talk with THEM about how they felt coming in late and why it might be better next time not to?
