The importance of eating.

Monday, February 25, 2013

I've decided I am going to stop counting fresh fruits and vegetables in my calories. I've been trying to decrease my calories, due to the weight I have gained. Although most of it is muscle weight, I don't want to continue this trend. At least not right now. I tried to average around 1800 calories yesterday, but with my workouts, it just wasn't plausible. I felt like crap. I didn't have much energy all day, and by the end of the day I was getting light headed and needed to eat some more. So I had a little bit of cottage cheese and a juice box. Since Weight Watchers doesn't count fresh fruits and veggies, it kind of makes sense to me. (I've never done WW, but both of my parents do.) They are foods that help you on your way to becoming healthy, instead of packing on the pounds. So for me, it's a waste of calories to count them in. I don't get much of either in my diet, however i am trying to change this. It's not like I'm going to go on a vegetable binge.. lol. I'm going to see if this helps my energy and blood sugar levels and go from there.

So many people are hungry all the time on diets with exercise, and they don't eat because they've maxed their calories for the day. This maddens me. People, you need to eat when you are hungry!!!! If you're light headed, you need to eat!!! I don't care if you've had 2000 calories in a day. EAT! (Healthy, that is.) Ok, I'm done.. :)

I wish protein would do that for me! I have trouble digesting a lot of proteins, so they tend to leave me hungry and light headed. emoticon

I agree that if you are hungry you must fuel your body. I have found that when I started to eat clean I am less hungry and I have less cravings. Eating 5 balanced meals with protein has made a big difference. Good luck with your strategy.

Yes I agree, I have to be careful not to let myself get light headed and for years could not stick with my healthy routine. However, this last year and a half I have learned to eat little treats all day long. Pretty much every hour and a half I eat something. It may be three carrots sticks, but I have found that was all I needed to keep the light headiness away and stay within my calories.
