You gave some great thoughts here that consistency vs once in a while gets you to the goal. Carrying out a lifestyle rather than a diet is the way to go. I like the fact that you started to plan with your husband for when your last child leaves and it is just you two. I noticed from the beginning that you were tainted by the past being put on a diet and wanted to say that your past doesn't have to have a hold on you. You have a good head on your shoulders. All the best to you!

In the past I have always been on a diet and gone back to my bad habits of eating whatever I want and not exercising and of course I would put back on the weight.

Once I realized that it is a lifestyle change, whenever I don't eat within my calorie range I don't beat myself up, I make small adjustments during the week, and exercise more.

    Well thought out.
    Great support to us all.
We focus so much to loose the weight but we need the focus on the lifestyle so
    it never comes back.

I wonder if we would all do this lifestyle change better if we used the one day at a time principle? Just doing our best in the day? I dont know..sometimes the"rest of our life" idea can be over whelming..what do you think? I loved your vlog and your tat!

Hi LILISWEN, I was also 12 when I first tried to diet. I would beg my mom to buy me the Ayds carmel diet candies. I read articles in magazines how so many lost weight on them. She did buy me a box but to me they were like candy. Which I never lost no weight off them. They were $4.00 a box and that was expensive back in 1968.
Your right, its changing our lifestyle, not just a diet. Hoping now that Im out of my Valentine candy, I can buckle down and eat more sensible.
Im hanging in there with you and hope to see some good results. We can do it. emoticon

I love that Bible verse. Everything in the Bible is so relevant for today's world and that particular verse applied to many lifestyle changes, not just eating healthy, is such a reminder of that!
