Check please, one mass of sore

Sunday, February 24, 2013

When you've had enough and are ready to wrap it ask for the check. CHECK PLEASE!

So non stop since the last I blogged.

My friend's mother passed away and I attended her viewing. It was happy to see her youthful pictures and flight attendant uniform. So sorry for my friends loss. Welcome to being a citizen of heaven Mrs Miller.

Another friend lost his mom to pancreatic cancer this week. She was a brilliant and warm woman. Welcome to being a citizen of heaven Mrs. Anschell.

Didn't know my father was holding a party....

Meanwhile back on earth, my MIL needed an emergence dr and dental appointment for an abscessed tooth. While there I called my hubby to get his brother to follow up for the rest of the week as my own mother was due to come home in four days.

Over the last week, I have moved furniture, taken clothes to Goodwill, washed sheets, donated the truck and car (no small feat to move), dusted vacuumed mopped and sanitized, organized paperwork, paid bills, run to banks, gotten parts to fix a non working oven and so much more to get the house ready for my mother coming home. Praises in here for the neighbor that put in multiple hours helping and encouraging, my brother and daughter who cleaned out the refrigerator and other tasks, my aunt and uncle that cleaned all the windows inside and out and others that lended phone support. Mom is now home and we have family doing 24 hour care until we can get her to the doctor Monday as she is still getting light headed bouts.

I lived on four hours of sleep Friday as I was up late taking care of my mother and then had to meet with a doctor as follow up on my father at 5:30 the next morning...followed by meeting a friend for long walk (while talking and tired...challenging)....then race back to be with another friend during an ultrasound after some bad news blood work...back home to pick up on some of my errands to get supplies..then back to mom's to meet with my mom and brother for dinner (thank you daughter's Bf for the hand catch halibut) paperwork for the attorney this Friday.

Then I crashed yesterday. Still not sure if I got the flu or i f my swollen glands, sore body and yucky tummy was just too much exposure to mold dust and cleaning products...I know I lifted too much too I have severe back pain. So yesterday and today in bed.....I really need to get up to do my own laundry and vacuum my own puppy destroyed house...he loves bringing in branches a nd pinecones and distributing them liberally. Dang can't find my keys again ..need coffee. Maybe time for a walk to get it.

What does this blog have it do with health and weight lose? Other than some walks which thank goodness have become ritual, not as much as I would like. Still many things to do but must priorit i ze myself with sleep and rest more.

Time to reintroduce the word NO or back down a notch to being the encouraging voice on the phone. You are not responsible for the whole world. I love that you are there for others, but the level at which you're supporting everyone around you is detrimental to your own health, at a time when you don't have health and energy to spare. Please take care of yourself! emoticon

KATHERINE! I know you want the best for your mom, but the place does not have to be a complete showcase for her return--you really REALLY need to calm it down. I am worried for you. Just because the item is on a 'to do list' does not mean it must be scratched off in the first week.

Coming from a place of love!
