I used to think that people who ate healthy and liked to exercise were some mutant breed with special genes that I would never have. But who knew I have become one of those people. I haven't missed a workout in 2013. I love working out, I look forward to it daily. With my newly discovered uplifiting sports bra, I realize I can jump, run do plyometrics and can do high intensity workouts.I can do things at soon to be 47 that I couldn't do in junior high. I started doing Turbo Fire and can't wait for my next workout, The more I challenge myself the more I discover I am capable of doing more than I ever thought. The only thing holding me back was ME and my negative self talk. Today I weighed in at 158.93 pounds, I haven't been below 160# in almost 5 years. As I continue on my journey of self discovery. I realized who you were in the past does not dictate who you will be today or can become tomorrow. You have the keys to change and shape your own destiny. I am becoming the person I always wished that I could be and it feels amazing.

Congrats on getting under that 160 number. Great that self challenges are leading to higher and higher goals. [Or maybe you had an alien gene transfer.] 2914 days ago

Your title made me think of the song, "we are the people our parents warned us about!" Sounds like you are making great progress, keep it up! 2914 days ago

Yes - it is so amazing when you find yourself feeling stronger and more capable than when you were younger. Exercise - and eating healthy - where were you all my life? I love it - congratulations on all you have accomplished!
RX_2_RV I think I am a hybrid...half healthy and the other half still loves french fries!
And yes, the right sports bra makes all the difference. I used to think I couldn't run...it's downright painful with the wrong apparel! I was fortunate to find the right thing, in my size, online.
Congrats on making the choice to be healthy and fit! Wishing you continued success in your journey.

I used to make fun of people like that - now too I am becoming one of them - eating healthy making sure I just don't sit on my butt all day - and I am loving it also

That's awesome! I'm afraid that I have become one of "those people", too, and I couldn't be happier about it. Especially with *my* new sports bra that I don't have to worry about the excessive bounce! It's freeing and satisfying. While I may never be athletic, I am now a person who prefers to move!
Me too! My extended family classifies me as "one of those people." I now take it as a great compliment.... even though they mean it as an insult.
