New day

So, I totally blew it last night, but I learned a couple of things. I didn't overdo it on the meal so much but did overdo it on the appetizers. I did not have cake and ice cream as planned. But, I realized (after tracking) that I must control how many dips and other goodies I sample if my weight loss journey is to be successful. It's a challenge for me. I must admit that I like many of the dips and goodies that are loaded with calories and fat. I ate as many calories in junk as I did for the meal--a real eye opener! I think the only way to control myself is to eat a light, healthy snack before I go to a party. The appetizers are trigger foods for me. I have to stop before I start. The snack will hold me over until the main meal is served so that I am not so hungry upon arriving at a party. This is a new day. I started the day with a healthy breakfast, and I plan to get some exercise in too. Moving forward in my journey. emoticon
