Since the first of the year, like most people, I've tried to be more active despite the cold and icky weather. I've been going to our new Planet Fitness 3x per week to take advantage of their treadmills and recumbant bikes. At only $10 per month with no contracts, I find this new kind of exercise club very user-friendly. (Please excuse the promo--I just find it fabulous).
Also, despite all the activity, I haven't lost much weight. Changing fat to muscle, water retention, and not watching what I eat on the weekends has all contributed to lack of an significant weight loss. But, I know what needs to be changed! This is where SP really comes in handy.
Also, just like most people this time of year, I came down with the flu. What a hard way to lose 8lbs. Not eating for 2 days, and not being able to keep down even water, can really take its toll. I have just started to eat again, but after a few bites my sides start to hurt and I stop. I am keeping down water, so drinking lots. Just had my first cup of coffee in days as well. So far so good.
I hate to be sick! I mean I really hate it! I am a terrible patient. My husband feels so useless because I don't let him comfort me, I just want him to stay away! When I am in pain, I feel the pain all the way out to my closeness zone. I didn't even want the cat or dog near me--too much weight on my sore body. Even they were upset. But pets are SSSOOO intuitive. I am the nurturer in my family, so when I can't take care of anyone else, I just want to suffer in sequestered silence.
Now I am feeling better. I still have all day Sunday to recoup before going back to work tomorrow.
The reason I am writing this blog is to let all my SP friends know that when I post my new weight tomorrow--its not all due to hard work--its due to surviving the flu. But, I will continue to work hard to keep the weight down. If I can eat enough to be able to work out safely, I'll be back at it on Monday.

    Good to hear you are feeling better, being sick just is sooooo unpleasant regardless of what it is. I lost soom weight in January when I was sick with sinus infection, asthma attach and felt awful and had a rough time eating too. Ease back into the exercise, your body will thank you.
