Pole Update

So far I've had 8 pole dance classes and I am completely in love. I am surprised at how quickly I am progessing! I thought for sure I would not be able to do some things for months only to get them the next class! So I've been telling people who are coming to the introductory classes and who look a little worried not to stress -- they will surprise themselves! Some skills come and go at this early stage. A week or so ago I managed to climb the pole and hold on with just my legs for a couple seconds. Two days ago I kept sliding down the pole as though it were made of glass. It will come back to me, I know it!

The classes really work some deep muscles that I previously was only able to work doing acrobatics. It sounds weird, but for me it is really addicting to work those muscles! Once I woke them up they don't like to go back to being unused.

I am trying to take as many classes as I can this month. I am going to be moving again. This time to a place that doesn't have a studio so I'm really anxious. I would like to get my own pole to work on what I have learned. I'm getting really solid instruction at this studio I'm at and if circumstances were different I would absolutely stay and train. But I have to leave town altogether so I will soak up what I can and, hopefully, come back once in a while for workshops.
