Confession time (again)

Friday, February 22, 2013

I have to write a confession blog. I have been struggling the last couple weeks with my eating, particularly at night when I get home from work. I'm bracing, again, for a gain. I haven't been honest even with myself as I haven't gone back and tracked the snacks I've "indulged" in when I get home.

I don't understand why I'm doing this. Usually I can pin point the reason. This time however, the only reason I can come up with is boredom. I'm bored with life I guess.

I signed up to be a leader of a relatively inactive team, hoping it would help keep me motivated. It has helped a bit, but definitely not the entire solution.

I fear I am reaching a point where I will give up. I'm trying very, very hard not to do that. I don't want to un do all I've achieved over the last year. I have been trying new recipes and I'm still searching for exercise that I like (same old same old).

I will not give up. I just felt I needed to be honest with the spark friends who are always there supporting each other.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Another simple suggestion to cut the nibbles...brush your teeth. It is much harder to enjoy snacks when your mouth is fresh with minty toothpaste.

I am so impressed at your weight loss success. If your mind is bored, it is time to find something to occupy your head rather than your mouth. What can YOU do for someone else? worth thinking about. emoticon

Noooo! You have done so well! Don't give up! Do something else instead!
I have been an evening eater too, and I know how odd it is to be eating when you don,t really want to, and thinking, How come I did that?

I have just lost 40lb in six weeks (check out my Cura Romana blogs) and am on the consolidation phase and really noticing that it is when I can eat more that is the problem for me. Maybe you would get new motivation if you tried a diet and lost that weight instead of sneaking a bit more food in?

And maybe just concentrating on holding steady and working through those uncomfortable feelings might do the trick, possibly with outside assistance to put you on a new track. I say this because I notice that you are having trouble enjoying any form of exercise, and that seems curious to me. Because bodies are made to move, they like it, and exercise makes you feel good, so I wonder what is going on there. And also, you have done an awesome job! You should feel so much better with 60 lbs down! That is so worth holding onto whatever way you can find.

Losing weight is hard. Keeping it off is hard. sometimes we can use a little help.
Whatever you do, hang in there!

Mary, don't give up, please, I just found your page, and reading through it, I've found someone who is such an incredible inspiration to me. If anything, don't give up..for people like me, who need someone like you to motivate them, and keep them going.

2 years, wow...I've just started and I keep thinking, if I can make it two years, like you have, I can do it too. Don't stop, please, keep going, you are doing incredibly well....I lost 60 pounds a couple years ago, then my Dad because seriously ill, and upon entering the hospital (with dehydration of all things) he contracted 2 rare diseases and ended up passing away last year. I regained the 60 pounds, and lost hope..but I found SP and through it, read your page, and through you, and others, found a way that maybe I can relose that weight.

I know it may sound selfish, but I need people like you to not lose hope, and not give up, so I don't give up.

Please, stay strong, I'll be here for you, if you are there for me!! Thank you for adding me to your page. :)

Stay strong! I know it is hard not to indulge. I have some days where I am absolutely starving and I have eaten everything for my day already. Have you tried reading books to pass the time? Wanda's idea sounds good too! Maybe you can try eating dinner at a later time? I actually do not eat until about 7 or 8 and that seems to work until I can go to bed. I would track everything if you can. Sometime just looking at what each item is 'costing' you will help you the next day. Don't give up! You will get there.

Hello Mary, my name is Wanda and I too nibble when I get bored, or upset, or happy, or busy (because it is easier than fixing a real meal.) In other words, I am seriously guilty of doing the same thing. The only thing that hs saved me in the last month is being able to check off that little box that says that I worked for at least 15 minutes while watching tv. Whenever I want to eat something, I go to the treadmill and walk a mile, then I am thirsty and drink a 16oz glass of water, then I am bloated and don't want to eat anything. Silly, but it works.
Your comment about not giving up is proof positive that your head is in the game !!! Positive attitude. Hope your day is wonderful also.
