Haven't blogged in over a year!

I am back on sparkpeople because I want to try and finally get to my goal weight. I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished with running, and I know that overall, I live a very healthy lifestyle. But honestly, I've kinda missed being on sparkpeople! I gained some weight over the holidays, but I was able to get that off pretty quickly. I wish I hadn't gained it in the first place!
I just updated my races on my sparkpage, and it was cool to read through all the races I've done.
I'm not sure what my next running goal is. I was going to do a half in April, but none of the dates work with other commitments that I have. I think I will do a 5K in May and a 10K in July and then a half in September. Sometimes, other commitments get in the way of running, and I'm trying not to panic and just be ok with that. I have been taking a yoga class once a week, and it has helped me with flexibility and stress management. I try to do weight training also, at least pushups and abs if I have time for nothing else. I also discovered the rowing machine at my gym, which is quite the workout!
My family has been through a lot this past year; several family members are dealing with cancer, and I've just realized how important it is to be there for my family, and that if that means saying "no" to things, then I need to do that. I actually have a sticky note of my list of priorities stuck to my computer so that I don't over-commit.
I also want to make sure that I'm not constantly jumping from one fad diet to the next. I want to set a good example for my children of all things in moderation.
So, that's what's on my mind right now. It's nice to be back :)
