Food fight

Well, I'm really struggling lately to consistently eat healthfully. Last week I had a nasty cold and PMS so all I wanted to do is eat and I sure did. At least once I felt better I burned about 3000 calories doing my half marathon. I consistently struggle with my eating though. I love food and have a hard time with portion control. I try to look back and see that I've improved a bit but it's really wreaking havoc on my weight loss (or lack thereof). I try not to be hard on myself and try to focus on how eating healthy usually makes me feel better. I dunno. Maybe I need to find some new recipes to mix it up. Just hate not having "self control." Any ideas???

    Just to let you know that I think we all "love food" and sometimes we give ourselves permission to overdo and overeat "just because" we want...it's easy to find blame on "I wasn't feeling well"....and you don't feel well afterwards when you see the result is that the scale laughs at you.

    Time to join in and do the hard stuff. Learn what you should not have in the house. Make up your mind that this is a new way of living and if you want to continue to live (and be happy) you need to give yourself permission to eat safer and wiser.

    Pre-plan your food menus the day before might help, and pre-measuring your food. Also, there are some amazing recipes in Sparkpeople and other healthy cookbooks and magazines (and websites) that are easy to make and fun to eat!
