We finally did it!

Friday, February 22, 2013

Last night his lordship, the prince regent and I all joined the new Planet Fitness gym that was opened about five miles from our house. Their hours are so great that I think even his lordship will be able to find time to get in there. I'm pretty excited even though I will likely only be using the treadmills and recumbent bike. But I have an appointment with their fitness coach on the 28th to talk over my back issues and see which pieces of equipment won't exacerbate the problem. Been waiting for this for a long time. I've missed our treadmill. Good thing is, it's only $10 and no contract.

On the down side, our friend Ralph's pathology report has come back. He does, indeed, have lung cancer that has spread all through his chest. They are not going to do treatment. He's 83. So they have given him two to six months. To have a brother-in-law and a close friend both going through lung cancer is very emotional, and the tears creep up on me at odd times during the day. Just keeping busy here.

Ralph's wife Donna's brother-in-law passed away last weekend. His memorial service is tomorrow and we told them we'd be there, even though we didn't know him.

Made a gallant effort to move my journaling into the 21st Century yesterday. For years and years I've used a spiral, top-bound notebook for journaling. I wondered what it would be like to do it on the computer. I really liked it. Until my wrists both started complaining last night. So it may not work. We'll see.

It's snowing here again today after a week of sunshine. I sure have noticed a difference in my spirits since Joanie cut my vitamin D in half. I desperately need spring to come.

Glad to hear that you and his lordship took advantage of that ten down and ten dollars a month deal. no contract is perfect. I hate the ultra fine print on contracts.

I'm sorry to hear that Ralph has lung cancer. My uncle, who never smoked a day in his life, died of lung cancer. He was a bit older than Ralph, but not by much. I think he was 86 or so when he passed away. the doctors thought the cancer was a result of his working with asbetos back in the 1950s.

    that's a shame.

We're getting another round of snow starting saturday night into sunday. that's now three weekends in a row we've gotten a storm of some kind. Yeah, even I get tired of shoveling. LOL !!!

Yeah! So glad to hear you two joined the gym. My mother bought me a super dee duper pass, the one with tanning and bring a friend privileges last July. It is a year's membership so I can still go, but have only done so a handful of times because our gym is about 15 miles away. It's just too much on our budget to get out there, what a waste huh? (I told her not to buy it for me!)

So sorry to hear the report on Ralph. Does he know Jesus? I presume he does, but just checkin' :)

Good luck with the journaling; I stil use my spiral with an occassional journaling on the compu. Hope it works for you. Also hope the sun stays around for the long haul out your way. Had some sunny days here too this past week, but back to gloom today.

Yes, yes, hurrrrryyy spring!!! Afterall, the emoticon Phil said it'd be early!
