Day 2 of the Shred Diet (Dr. Ian Smith)

Thursday, February 21, 2013

I started the Shred Diet by Dr. Ian Smith, yesterday. I had went from the end of Christmas, to February 20th in a plateau. I did lose one pound yesterday, but am hoping this plan will help me move forward. So far, I think it is a very balanced plan. Matter of fact, it is difficult to eat all of the food in the first week. I was looking for a meal plan and this definitely offers that. You do have some choice, but mostly it tells you how and when to eat. I am definitely going to get in my vegges and fruits and calcium too. It works if you are vegetarian, diabetic or have any other dietary restraints. I need to watch too many veggies in one time. It can push me into IBS. So, I will take it easy, but do what I can to follow the diet as well as possible. I have the book on my Kindle, and find that also using the Cloud App on my laptop is helpful.

Note: It is a pain to go back and forth to the plentiful list of snacks, soups and smoothies. I am looking at the diet itself in my Kindle, and the snacks, etc. on my laptop.

I bought the book when I was away in Fl. I am going to start in next week when I return home. It isn't much different from what I eat now but broken down into smaller meals and mixing it up makes a lot of sense.

Hi there - I did a search on Ian Smith's Shred and found your post. I started the Shred diet on 2/23. So far this week, I was pretty good, but today I didn't stay right on the plan. I did work out tonight. But I was going to try to not look - the first 4 days I lost 2#, and this morning, I was down 3#. Tomorrow will be a week.

Anyway - how are you doing? Would you like to encourage each other through this? I'm telling myself - well, it's 35 more days... There's a lot of variety and it's good to eat healthy salads. I've got a nutribullet and I'm using that as a way to get really healthy juice. Hope things are going well for you! emoticon
