Before and After

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

I am a visual person, so I've often taken before and after pictures and journaled my weight loss. While organizing my craft room for a weekend of crafting, I stumbled across a composition book dated October 22, 2012. That was day that I spoke with my exercise coach at Care Here, and she devised a workout plan for me. I took some starting measurements...174 pounds, 38" natural waist and 27% body fat before I hit the gym.

I began my workout on a positive note since I had already lost most of the weight that I gained from my achilles tendon repair earlier in the year. A few weeks into it, I got bored and unmotivated. Oh how I hate working out alone. So, a co-worker and I decided to bring in exercise DVDs and workout together in one of our large training rooms. Our first challenge DVD....the Biggest Loser Cardio Max! On December 4th, I was introduced to Bob, my personal trainer for the next few weeks.

I took a break during the holidays from the DVDs, but I keep walking with a push up or 2 in between laps. Just as I started to get bored again, I thought, I am going to craft on the weekends and only workout during the week. This brings me to the beginning of this blog.

When I found the composition notebook, I raced for the scale and grabbed my tape measure along the way. The results are in...163 pounds, 34" natural waist, and 23% body fat!

Although the numbers on the scale are not that impressive, but the 4" weight loss from my waistline is something for me to brag about! I've often struggled with weight loss in this area, so every inch is worth celebrating to me.

34" waist in half way there for me. I wonder what 30" will look like on my 5'11" boyish frame. I guess I will have to re-evaluate my weight loss in a few more months to see.

Thanks for your comments. Dibanana...its funny you mention my waist measurements in relation to my height. My Dr. explained that I shouldnt go by the norm because it is different for me because of my height. I never reallly thought about that Ah duh! BTW....my waist is not that small. I still have love handles, back fat, and a belly that sticks out further than my breast. .:-)

Wow you are 5'11"! You probably have a very small waist for your height. Good for you keeping those journals. It helps to remember because we can get down on ourselves. Keep Sparking
