Escaping the onslaught of a Friday snow day departure & then landing in Florida (frigid in the low 70's) was a great beginning. I figured out early how a rushed exit factors into forgotten items...sunscreen & a beach bag...Ever gone on a Florida canal cruise in 48 degree temp. wearing 3 layers...I'll post the picture to prove it!!!

But what a fabulous week of OVERINDULGENCE we had on our we were not on the carnival ship that caught fire & was towed back to shore...we heard abit about it...but not too much...

A glorious mode of transportation...clean, bright, modern with many intimate small spaces for our company of 2300 or so & 1200 staff who catered to us for our every need...service was unsurpassed on this cruise...& don't get me started on the food magnificent types & choices....for those of us with a sweet tooth the desserts just got better every meal...which I wasn't sure was possible. And I just could not resist..

Unconsciously I think I wanted to see if it would affect my weight since it had been almost 15 months since I saw any noticeable gain of more than the 2 lb. seesaw back & forth of my weekly weighins. Well, I sure got my answer this am. when I did the nasty WI after 2 weeks of being on that scale.

Even though I had plenty of movement through walking, swimming, treadmills, & zumba classes, the portions & food amounts & choices ALL added up to a 6.4 lb. increase in 2 weeks since my last time on the scale. I repeated it 3x to be sure since the scale said 132.0 today. So Red Flag Weight Alert has been posted & I'm now on high alert as to what is going in & coming out of my mouth until I return to my normal body weight. I do think that part is travellers weight, salt intake excuses..but Ouch...that WI HURTS...but not a surprise...

We had a great time returning to some islands & exploring new ones....Eleuthera...a small Bahama out island & Turks & Caicos...a turquoise, aqua paradise that cannot be described except to see its really was a water paradise...

Nothing better than watching music concerts on a Big screen Outdoors under the stars...dancing through the wind...conga line & gangnum styling while our ship rocked & rolled through the Atlantic...I think the east coast experienced storm aftercurrents all the way until we got to St. Marten.

We had some fun doing souvenir shopping...although I was required to leave some much researched & tested jars of jam at the air terminal in Fort Lauderdale upon our check in return. Who knew that 3 jars of jam (350 ml.) Guavaberry, Banana & Pineapple would pose an airplane security risk even though my family size aerosol can of sunscreen as well as a large wooden statue (from Grand turk) would pass through the scanner undetected as any risk...

I hope the amused immigration agent enjoyed the sweet proceeds that I had planned on giving 2 relatives as I sound bitter??? Oh well, live & learn...things could have been worse...

I'm still doing mountains of laundry...our luggage did arrive as well as return so that is good, right!!!

My hubby experienced Brazilian steak revenge before even boarding the ship...I always warned him on red, red meat...he swore it was delicious...& ate it all spicy bite after bite...& is still feeling his stomach's wrath...he lost 5 lbs. in the last week....I say, thank god it helped our bar tab...gotta think positive, right???

I will download some photos this is my 1st day catching up, menu tracking etc & doing every possible errand that accompanies a trip back to reality including a return to work tonite.

ps. I have yet to even get through the Grammys.

Even though indulgence feels good at the time, normalsy is what feels REAL & a true workout will feel even better or so I HOPE!!!!

I'm back & glad to be here with all of you ,

Don't worry Sandi - I am positive most of that weight will disappear in the next few days as you get back to a normal plan. WHY they have to put so much sodium in food is a mystery - just drink lots of water and you'll wash the retained water out.
