What if Rocky did P90X?
Monday, February 18, 2013
This past weekend I was thumbing through the channels after a workout and Rocky was on! This was the original Rocky that can’t be beat! While watching that movie I was reminded of how it is such a symbol for everything you have to fight for in life, especially health and fitness. I can’t tell you how many times I have been knocked around and punched and kicked, only to get back up and do it all over again. If anyone that is successful at anything tells you it was easy they are lying or didn’t challenge themselves enough.
Rocky is just like the program P90X or any fitness program for that matter. Getting up and pushing play is half the battle, surviving is the other half! Rocky kept getting knocked down and yet he kept getting up. He simply just got up more times than Apollo. That is what that program is about, getting up more times than not. The big difference is it gets easier to get up after a tough P90X workout (compared to getting hammered by Apollo).
I can tell you that I have failed more times than the average person, in workouts, business, relationships, etc… I can tell you it is the next time that counts. Tony Horton always says, “Do your best and forget the rest!” This saying goes hand and hand with the Rocky analogy. Being great and accomplishing a great body, six pack, or having success is about getting back up. How many times can you get back up? Be like Rocky and keep getting up!
