Tendonitis and Ellipticals

So, I made it into the gym today-the tendonitis was down to the usual dull pain. I was told by my doctor, I would need injection shots to get it to heal. It had healed for about a year, but gradually came back. Not letting that stop me. Just wondering, anyone else who has suffered with foot pain. Is there a level on the elliptical which uses less pressure on the foot. For some reason, I am thinking a higher tilt would be better-using your knees more? Any thoughts?
