Saturday musings.

Today is the day I do the big shopping. Today, I also went shopping for my MIL, who is going through cancer treatments. I brought my son to help with the heavy lifting, but having company threw me off my routine, and took double the time and now that I've unloaded everything, I see I forgot various things and will have to go back. But it was nice to see MIL up and about, and getting her taste buds back. Apparently, she wants to eat cookies and doughnuts and watermelon but at least she wants to eat this week. We ate lunch at the deli. I didn't do to bad, a small greek salad and an indian samosa but boy, did I want general tsa's chicken, fried rice and an egg roll.

I am still trying to use up our freezer of meat and veggies, so I didn't plan on anything big. I have beef stew meat for my crock pot day on Monday. I am going to put up pints of fat free re-fried beans tomorrow and we will have tacos this week. I also got some lamb, turkey and 97% lean beef for some meatloaf. I am going to stretch it with some beans, carrots and peppers and freeze one for later. I got salmon for fish on Friday. I really love LENT, it's an excuse to eat fish that the family participates in. I got peppers and sausage for easy bake packets.

I got each of the dogs a bone to crunch on, and the big old man dog confiscated all three of them and won't share. Apparently, my dogs need to work on their social skills. I need to work on my cleaning skills so it's off to clean house.
