Day Two of Challenge And Interesting Statistics About Unemployment

Saturday, February 16, 2013

It is day two of the weekend challenge and the second positive thing about myself is that i like to try out new recipes. If they are not diet friendly then we try to modigy them accordingly. If they don't turn out we scrap them. Interesting little bit of info Icame across for my paper. The media like to brag about how good the employment was for Ohio with the car industry yet when i looked up some other states they were still high for unemployment. In fact after the president was first elected the first time around they went up higher than they were before. All the media shows is the ones who got jobs they gloss over the fact that a lot of people are still without a job. Some on unemployment only and some like me without any at all. Some people have simply stopped looking. Some of us are underqualified and others like a guy in my church are overqualified. With so many looking for work the employers can just pick and choose who they want. Now I hear people are supposed to get a fine of over $200.00 dollars for not having insurance next year. What if we cannot pay that; then what? Is he going to put people in jail then? But ti think it is only for those who have jobs and can get insurance. People like me are supposed to be covered under Medicaid through the state. Our governor decided not to go with that because there is no back up plan in case the federal government goes broke. We all know that the debt is in the trillions of dollars already. Government pays for more than just one thing; money has to be there for Medicare, Social Security, Defense, and other things. How much farther does he think he can stretch it without
China demanding their money back; cause that is where it is coming from. Not to mention that the people on Medicare or Medicaid already would be paying more for their insurance so that the ones coming in would be covered. I did an essay on Health Care for another class and that is what I found out. Somebody has to pay out for this to work.

KNYAGENYA I am in the same boat here in Texas. I was with a company for over 10 yrs that got bought out and the job I had to take is $9 less and hour than what I was making before. We are making it just barely. Had to cut out any kind of entertainment, cut back on groceries. I have to save every dime if I need a new piece of clothing.More coming out of my check for SS that I probably won't even see.

Don't know what I will do if I have an emergency repair on my car or something in the house needs fixed. My hubby is on disability and they cut that the beginning of the year to just $800 a month. It is so frustrating when these politicians are trying to tell us things are getting better. What realm are they living in. They don't have to worry about anything. I just don't know what is going to happen to America if we keep going down this same path.

All we can do is continue to have faith in God to fix this mess and prayer often.

I understand. I have been unemployed since November. I have had several interviews but no offers. There is a possibility of my getting a job next week but it pays $16,000 less than I was earning. Unemployment tells me I have to accept all job offers. I have no idea how we will make it on that amount. I hope something better comes along for the both of us. I'm in Ohio as well.
