I am positive ...

Saturday, February 16, 2013

Day two of sharing thoughts about myself and I was thinking of what positive thing I wanted to share and "wham" it hit me emoticon ... I am a very positive person!

I had one boss who said I was "Idealistic"... at first I was somewhat put off by his comment but then I actually looked up the definition ... some synonyms are visionary and dreamer, so I decided, that was fine and I would embrace his definition!

I am the "glass half full" girl ... the why worry person. I think some of this thinking came about from a Dale Carnegie class I took once. If you have taken their course you can relate to "Act enthusiastic and you'll be enthusiastic" ... even though it has been about 25 years since I took the class that "chant" still rings out in my head at times.

So be positive my fellow "Sparkers" emoticon

Your blog reminded me of a podcast I listened to from a SparkTeam I am on; IOWL. The podcast spoke of Walt Disney's success technique of separating the dreamers from the critics so that the dreamers were free to create without impediment. Later the critics helped with identification of issues that could then be solved or dealt with in another way to make the creation stronger. For optimal creativity and productivity the two had to be apart.

The point is that within ourselves we also can separate the critic from the dreamer (the idealist) and achieve similar success in our endeavors be they weight release or other goals. We can dismiss the critical side of ourselves until that time in which perhaps it would serve us to "fine tune" our plans.

I think it is wonderful that you were the idealist and your one boss recognized this. I'd venture to say that he/she also had plenty of pessimists on the team also!

The more mature and hopefully wiser I become, the more I understand that in any situation I can choose to look at the positive side. Maybe that side isn't always apparent or easily found, but eventually we can uncover "the gift" that we can carry forward that makes us better, stronger, more loving people.

    Here's to positivity! Here's to you, COOKIE_AT_51!

We're just getting to know each other, but I must totally agree with this. You ~are~ a very positive person and you graciously share the positivity with those around you. I'm fortunate to benefit from knowing you!
