Doing 3 Things Today!

During my work-on-me-from-the-inside time yesterday, I was reminded of a strategy to help me make progress towards reaching all of my goals. I simply set 3 goals and do them. What I like is that this gives me a chance to assess exactly where I am in the moment and make relevant goals.

I have reviewed my goals and these are three things I WILL do today!

1. I will eat as planned without changes today and I will plan tomorrow's food
(I've been doing well but feeling a rise in temptation as the weekend approaches.)

2. I will keep my foot up and on ice today
(I didn't do well with this yesterday and my foot is more swollen. I have to get the swelling down to get the stitches out next week. Getting the stitches out is one step (no pun intended) closer to exercise. And I'm starting to feel the effects of laying around. I NEED to get my heart rate up.)

3. I will add 2 ideas to my possible big reward list

Bonus. I will exercise if possible. That means really possible.

These are three things I WILL do Saturday!

1. I will work on my goals rewards
(My post-recovery goals for the spring/summer, rewards, and my personal and work-related H-project)

2. I will start taxes (and maybe finish them)

3. I WILL stick to my food plan

Bonus. I will exercise if possible. That means really possible.

(These may change by tomorrow AM, but I wanted to set a direction for the weekend.)

    I *really* like this idea of 3 things to do today!

    I totally use a weekly to-do list for errands, appointments etc...

    But this is a great idea for making health/nutrition/fitness happen.

    I know you love to push yourself towards your goals, so I hope you have accomplished all of them already!! I wish you a speedy recover, but do be careful too, too much too soon can slow that recover down! I'm sure you'll come up with ways to get your heart rate without affecting your foot - if anyone can figure that out you can!! emoticon

    RE: getting heart rate up-- geez o pete, woman-- you don't even have yer stitches out! The body-- it needs to heal. Let it rest. Push too hard, and you won't be able to follow your schedule to recuperation.

    I know that you've worked really hard to get where you are. Keep to your food plan, get movement in when you can, but above all, treat yourself well-- don't push it, let yourself heal and you will be back to hiking!

    Good for you!

    I will walk when I get home from work.

    I will eat a reasonable dinner and not go overboard on anything, healthy or not, as an evening snack.

    I will ..... think of something else I will do today. Aside from get through work. Which isn't quite busy enough to keep me out of trouble. Yet.
