"The picture of health"!

Friday, February 15, 2013

"You are the picture of health." That's what my doctor told me last week. This was my neurologist, who has been following me for my Multiple Sclerosis.

I started Ideal Protein on August 1, 2012, two days after getting out of the hospital for a serious relapse. I haven't had a relapse since, and I have felt great. There have been some up and down days, certainly, but I'm not so sure those weren't just 'normal', versus anything having to do with my MS.

I've lost 60 pounds, I am healthier than I have ever been, and the only medication I am on is that for my MS, which I'd rather not gamble with. My neuropathy seems to have diminished quite a bit, and I passed all the physical tests that my neuro put me through. He was very proud of my results, and has encouraged me to maintain the good work!

My blood tests all came back 'normal'. My cholestrol is at the low end of normal, my blood pressure was also at that low end, and everything checked out. My BMI is still high, but that is only one indicator, and so far the only one that says, "Hey chicka, you need to lose weight." Everything else says, "You healthy biatch, you." :)

All in all, quite thrilled!

Great news, Michelle! My most recent blog is also about the good results at my MS appt, following mt wt loss. I didn't mention my cholesterol, because it wasn't checked at this appt, but, I've cut my Lipitor down to 1/3 of what it used to be.

Although my original motivation to lose weight was pure vanitu and wanting to look better, the health benefits have been amazing. (I noticed, when volunteering at preschool last week, that I can play hopscotch again!)
