Getting R.I.P.P.E.D

Thursday, February 14, 2013

My YMCA started a new class last week so this week I decided to give it a try. The class is called, R.I.P.PE.D.

R.I.P.P.E.D. – The One Stop Body Shock™ is a “Plateau Proof Fitness Formula” that helps you to create continuity, consistency and challenge in each and every R.I.P.P.E.D. class.

What does it mean to get R.I.P.P.E.D - Resistance, Intervals, Power,Plyometrics and Endurance as the workout portion along with Diet suggestions to help you attain and maintain your physique in ways that are fun, safe, doable and extremely effective.

I was stoked to try out this class. I love new challenges and new ways to shake things up in my routine. This class sounded awesome after reading what it gives you and seeing some of the clips from other classes around. I was like a giddy kid today waiting for class time to start!

My review of the class..... well I was sweating buckets if that gives you one clue. AWESOME! This class was awesome and hit every one of my expectations. It had plenty of cardio along with strength to work every single muscle.

The way the class works is it goes by each letter of R.I.P.P.E.D. giving different moves and different workouts. Our instructor did move the Power and Endurance around though. The endurance track was all kick boxing so she wanted to do that before the power track.

The class was a full 45 minutes and included a warm up and stretching / cool down at the end. It did have some moves that I couldn't keep up with because I am not that coordinated but when that happened I would just jump or kick or punch what ever we were doing at the time.

All in all I was very happy with the class and I can't wait to go again next week. How about you? Have you ever tried a R.I.P.P.E.D. class? Sound appealing to you?

Do you get giddy about workouts? LOL.....

    This is great!
What made a huge difference in improving my time on long distance run was the intrevals and the ST... not running more! (and many training plan out there are saying the same thing)
Keep up the great work - your training will pay off in a few weeks for your next big race!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We have a local instructor who started doing RIPPED classes and got so involved that she's now training other instructors on how to teach RIPPED. I haven't actually taken the class though, as it isn't offered at the gym at a time I can make it. But it sounds like an awesome format!

That souns interesting. I haven't heard of that or tried it. I got giddy today looking at the curriculum for the trainer conference I plan on attending in August. Long time to wait and/or get ready for that!

They have a TP Therapy class which is the company that makes the GRID foam roller that I have and love. I also think they are going to have the Level 2 Fit to Fight Boot Camp instructor certification. I took level 1 last year. I'll have to print the whole thing out and go over it multiple times to see what all the classes are because there are lots of new things.

Glad ou are doing well! My workout today was Happy Hips Yoga! Love that.
