Veggie stir fry

I had some coco sauce left over and wanted to test rice again. Last time I had rice I lost but that was in phase 1 and I wanted to make sure my body is really ok with rice. Rice has always been a food that got the blame for any weight gain. Now is the time to find out if that is really so.

The veggies are mixed with brown rice cooked in a little olive oil and tumeric, turning it yellow. Topped with my favorite spicy coco sauce and a small salad on the side- it was delicious

By mid afternoon I felt like I was bloating up and started to get really cold to the point where I had to curl up in front of the fire with a blanket. I had some soup for dinner and in the end it took a small glass of cognac to warm me up.

Now it would be easy to blame the rice but it is also that time of the month and it could be hormonal as well. The real test was my weight the next morning... it was exactly the same, no loss, no gain. So this test was inconclusive :( Try again next week or so.
When something like this happens the best thing to do is eat "neutral" foods from early in the menu to offset any inflammation and to get back on track.

    I wish I liked brown rice as it is better for you. I really don't like the taste. I use basmarti rice as that is supposed to be better than regular rice.

    This is certainly a great way to discover the reaction of different foods, we are all different and what suits one, does no necessarily suit another. Love stir fry.

    Interesting journey of discovery!

    I was cold yesterday too! was windy here too and icy , so we were both shivering in different hemispheres. Lots of tea is called for!

    Your meal looks so good. You are wise to check your reaction to certain foods. This is what I really like about Spark People. All of us have learned so much about our bodies and our food choices by educating ourselves through the Spark articles and the community here.

    wow it looks so delicious. But I am really thinking there is definitely something to how we feel and what we eat. I am tracking how I feel everyday now and comparing what I have eaten the day before. Yesterday I had so much energy and felt great. The day before I had greek yogurt for lunch and almonds and a very light dinner. Today I don't feel as ""peppy" as I did yesterday.........well and yesterday I had 2 slices of lunch meat(Costco lean ham) and lots of tomatoes and then my oat bran cereal with pumpkins and almonds. So I am going to repeat the menu from two days ago with the greek yogurt and see if I feel even more energetic tomorrow. So I am doing my own little experiments as well.
