Starting Again--Again! Help!

I hesitate to write this blog. My exercise life has been out of whack for almost 6 months now, the longest stretch since late 2008, and that is not good. I have put a little weight on, but not too much, the bigger issue is that my fitness level is very low and I know how much work it will take to get that back.

That's not what's actually causing the hesitation, though. What's causing the hesitation is that I've had several fits and starts over the last few months, and yet I haven't remained disciplined, focused, and committed. Now my marathon training plan starts next Tuesday, and boy do I need those 18 weeks to get ready.

So the bottom line is this: I need to start and stay started! Encourage me, SP friends, rebuke me, tease me--do whatever you can to help me because I need you right now!

Thanks, friends, I've missed you, and I look forward to reconnecting with many of you again. By the grace of God, I AM GOING TO DO THIS THING!!!

    You can (and most importantly WILL) do this! It doesn't matter how many times you've quit or given up. What matters is how many times you start again!

    I could have written this blog! Time for both of us to stop procrastinating and get on track; my marathon plans on still on the back burner due to injury and PT, but I hope to get back to that level.

    I have no problems doing this! Look at your wife and your daughter! There's your motivation! A father's influence in his daughter's life shapes her self-esteem. She will see your training effort and the result! There's no doubt in my mind that she has grown spiritually through her Mom & Dad! Focus on them and look to your Creator for strength! I look forward to hearing about your amazing Marathon journey! Stay strong, stay focused, and train well!
