Jumping In and Making Life and Diet Fun!

Today did not start off well [I was very jittery an not feeling very good]; however, I am feeling better now that I've eaten a good meal, [dinner for brunch... ] stupid-ally skipped breakfast [except for my iced coffee], emoticon but, for brunch we had cubed steak dipped in egg white and corn starch [only thing I had to use for breading] emoticon Guess I need to buy corn flakes or something non wheat emoticon I'm not gluten intolerant, but have allergies; anyway, red potato and sour cream [good combo] with ..we tried something new thanks to the advertising here on SP: Green Giant Tuscan Seasoned Broccoli. You know, it dawned on me that if I focus on making a new recipe or menu.. it's kind of fun to plan and cook healthy! emoticon
Something else new: emoticon I exercised last night... emoticon emoticon emoticon which you know isn't easy for some of us to get motivated to do. emoticon But, I watched a few EASY motivational videos here on SP and decided a little dancing along with some toe touches and knee bends, reaching for the stars, isn't that hard, emoticon I just have to get up and do it!!! emoticon
Also, I was reading the SP's cook book emoticon I bought on Amazon and it really motivated me to see that eating the same old thing is why I've quit dieting in the past. emoticon We would get into the habit of eating the same thing every week, and so the old dishes I wouldn't cook anymore, would sound good, too good and we would indulge to the place of pigging out. emoticon emoticon So, I'm excited about trying new dishes ...even thinking I could learn my own spices and forget the processed veggies like we had tonight [though they were good]. If your spark is not as bright, try mixing things up.. do something new, make SP work for you!!!! emoticon It can be fun!!! emoticon emoticon

    Good for you!! I love cooking and baking anyway so trying new things is always exciting to me!!...I also bought the Spark Cookbook. Maybe make a goal to try a new recipe out of the book a couple time a week...there are great menu ideas also if your looking for new ideas to pull a whole healthy meal together. Another thing I often do is write notes on each recipe page. Like what I might try different next time,,if the family liked it or not etc. It's really just a whole new approach to cooking healthy!! Good luck emoticon

    From another spark friends idea last year I started adding a new food item or one I havent' tried in a long time or didn't like growing up to our menu each week. It's not only fun but excitng to see and say we tried or enjoyed this or that. I even over heard my husband telling someone what we were doing so I knew right then It was an A+ idea and one that help keep us on the healthy eating path.... emoticon
