I only have control over what I do, what I say, what I eat, when I exercise, and how I treat people. I am struggling to remember that I have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL over what others do, say, eat, think, or how they treat people. I try to set a good example and do the right thing, but at the end of the day, everyone has to be accountable for their own decisions and actions, or lack therof for that matter. I can't force, wish, will, or love someone into doing or saying something they don't want to. Sometimes it is hard to give up 'control', but each of us was given free will. Sometimes people just have to figure things out for themselves I guess!

Speaking just for myself, I have learned life's lessons mostly by trial and error.
Problem solving comes from knowing what does and doesn't work for me.
    Nothing like personal experiences.

People do make bad choices, but you are right, we must just do our best and control ourselves and quit worrying about that which we cannot control. Life is too short to be stressed out by the things that we cannot control and stress makes us do things like eat too much. By recognizing that we can't control others, we are improving our health!

This is something I have been struggling with. I realize that I can't control the people around me or get them to see how they hurt other people whether intentional or unintentional. We all have free will to make good choices or bad choices.
