The Shred Diet Week 1:Day 1

Monday, February 11, 2013

I am almost embarrassed at my sparkpagee as it looks like I always start, but never make any progress. There was a time when I felt that if ever I was diagnosed with a disease that was preventable such as diabetes that I would do what it takes to get myself healthy. Here it is . . nearly a year after my diagnosis and the struggle continues. There is no doubt that it is contributed to my giving up and emotional eating, but if I continue it is clear that I am going to die from complications of diabetes. I don't have to and I don't want to so here goes again.. . .with the Shred Diet. I've read the book and I recruited a friend to join me on this journey to complete the 6 Weeks of meals for this plan.

I gotta be honest so far so good, I have not felt hungry at and I had to skip a snack because I was already full.

This week is described as Prime: The first leg of the journey.

From what I have read there has been a TON of positive reviews and I must say as someone who has read his other books, this one seems to be the most promising. I intend to track my progress and blog about it. Hopefully this will help to keep me on track to my ultimate goal of losing 50lbs

Below is an account of what I ate today:

Meal # 1 @ 9:45AM

* 3.5oz of fresh blueberries
* 6oz container of Chobani Peach Greek Yogurt
* 1 Cup of Carrot Juice

Snack # 1 @11:15AM

*7 Saltine Crackers

Meal # 2 @12:45PM

*1-16oz Peach Perfection Smoothie w/Soy Protein Boost
*1-Medium Red Delicious Apple
*16oz of Water

Snack #2 @2:15PM

Meal #2 @4:30PM

*Salad from Jason's Deli Salad Bar w/ Argula, Spinach, Lettuce, Broccoli, Balsamic Vinegrette, Mushrooms, Sunflower Seeds, Parmesen Cheese, Apples,
Dried Cranberry, & Walnuts

Snack #2 @7:35PM

1.5 Sheets graham crackers

Meal #3 @9:30PM

3 Servings of Mixed Veggies (Zucchini/Carrots/Broccoli)
1 Cup Light Kidney Beans
16oz Water

Snack# 3 @11:00PM

21 Almonds

There was exercise recommended today, but because of my work schedule I did not have a chance to go. That is ok as long as I work out 5 days out of 7. Working a 4 Days at week second shift takes a big chunk of my day, but I will make the adjustments.
