Today could have been one of those days, but I refuse to let it get me down!!

Something happened on Friday night with my TV remote control!! (grrrrrr!!) It suddenly stopped working. It would not do anything...wouldn't change channels, change the sound volume or even turn on or off!!

So I called the TV company and got a nice young man who tried to help. He had me do all the things he could think of and finally gave up. Said he'd send out a new remote, I can toss the old one.

Today I got the new one and had to call the company because I (the electronics maven) couldn't do anything to make it work. The first gal I got had me do everything but stand on my head and it wouldn't work. She finally got "rid of me" by sending me an email with "further" directions, which were actually nothing more than what we had been doing for the past hour.

So, second call...this gal wanted to go through the same "practice" and I finally told her that I give up. She tells me that they "cant' guarantee" that it will work. I can't imagine why, The last one worked for over 3 years, day in and day out. I said, that's fine...I want to speak with a supervisor. Nothing against her, but there has to be an answer.

Next, the supervisor gets on the phone. For all I know she is the gal sitting at the next desk to this one. She starts to tell me the same story until I said that "I'm sorry, that's just not acceptable". My understanding is that a remote should at least turn the set on and off. She tells me that I will need to use the remote that came with my TV to do that from now on. At that point I told her that it that's what she thinks I should do, then I'll have to think about changing my provider and cancelling them.

End of story (for now)...on Wednesday afternoon between 12 and 4, I will be unavailable as the service man will be out to my house to see if he can work a miracle for me.

I said "thank you" and hung up....my comment AFTER hanging up, wonder what his story will be or will he be the miracle worker?

    I don't know whats going on with the cable people lately- my parents have had a ton of problems and I have been fighting them about a mistake on my bill since Oct. Each one tells me that the previous person I spoke to didn't really do anything about it- You'd think their service would get better not worse with all the competition.
    But great for you that you are not eating over it! emoticon

    I don't know much about these kinds of things if any, but maybe the receiver is no longer sensitive to receiving a signal, which would explain why both remotes aren't working. Just a thought. Good luck!

    Such an annoying and aggravating situation with the phone calls! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the service man can fix the problem for you!
