There is no wake up call like back pain

This is the second time since October that I have been stuck in bed due to back pain. I have been through childbirth that required less pain killer. The great thing about childbirth was the disappearance of most of the weight following the pain. This weight now seems to be my friend...just keeps hanging around and always by my side, and my other side, and my middle and, well, you get the picture. Since working out is out of the question for the time being I'm going to start from the inside. Today marks the beginning of the divorce between me and junk food. It will be hard, I will cry, I will be lonely, and I'm sure I will be grouchy, but its time to say goodbye to my favorite pastime....consuming.

    Having had multiple back surgeries, I empathize. Best of success to you on your way back to the health you deserve--and take it SLOW.

    Make sure you give up on the things that you love ONE AT A TIME and slowly. Don't give up too much at one time because then you will overwhelmed with the changes and they won't stick. One at a time for maybe about 3-4 weeks and then another. Use the nutrition tracker to track all the food you eat so you can monitor the calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. That way you can actually see what you are eating and what you have left to eat. You will be surprised with how much you actually eat or even how much you don't eat.
