Five minutes

Well, I wasn't able to run the full five minutes today . I made it around three times... Which is a improvement from two weeks ago. My shins are killing me!!
Any help out there for shin splints?

I am now at 224. That is eight pounds down in the past two weeks!
I'm going to try to do 30 to 60 minutes of cardio daily in addition to my three training sessions this week and sustain a 1200 to 1300 cal range with an extra focus on protein in the morning and fiber throughout the week!!

    I can't do running, I have always hated it! I prefer the elliptical because there is no impact. Once upon a time, I had worked myself up to 45 minutes on the elliptical. Right now, I'm at 5 minutes. Oh well, you've got to start somewhere!

    If you like to run try running on dirt, sand or wood chips. It's less stress on your knees, hips and feet. A good pair of shoes with good inserts is important. I used to run five miles a day until my knees started swelling up and inflamed. The orthopedic doctor told me to stop running or my knees would start to give me problems. I walk instead but sure do miss the running.
