Slug or lifestyle?

Saturday, February 09, 2013

I usually do my best to get out and walk this time of year because I'm not a fan of the hot weather of summer but no motivation this month. I don’t want to go out if it’s really cold, or slippery, or windy. I’m not sure if that means I’m a lazy slug. I'm not seeing lots of runner out there in the cold, or on the ice, or fighting the wind. Maybe, "lifestyle" does not require being out there on ice or in single digit temperatures. Or maybe, I'm a lazy slug.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of icy cold either. On the other hand, you want to burn calories. So it's a toss up.

Ok, just my 2 cents worth. I am not a huge fan of getting out there and fighting the elements either. Generally I DO because Mr. Spot the Wonder Dog needs his walk and that's fine. BUT on days when it is just too cold, icy or just nasty, we do an abbreviated walk then I jump on the treadmill.

So my point is this . . . if you don't do the outside walk/run, that's all right as long as you're replacing it with something indoors. If NOT, well . . . . that might be sluggish.

So, that's just my 2 cents worth. I really never let a day go by without activity. I did that for tooooooo many years! Even skipping one day for me sets up that "excuses" mentality and I can't afford for that to happen.

    HUGS and hope this helped!
