Way of Life...

Saturday, February 09, 2013

I really enjoy eating low carb. I've been working on my planning and it's getting better. Exercising is the big step I have yet to really get into. Being obese at my age and for so long has cause early arthritis in my knees and back. I knew moving was going to be difficult but the pain in my knees and back have been something new this past year. It makes exercising hard. I have found the more I am move throughout the day the better and longer I walk etc. So, I continue to find ways to move more in my daily life, slowly going to add exercising at home before I jump into a gym again. I am self competitive but I have also found if I set the bar to high for myself I was stop. So, I need to set it high enough to sweat but low enough to do and push myself slowly each time I do it again. Baby steps, building confidence and strength....life will continue to get better health wise!

Take your time and go carefully. The absolute worst thing you can do is to get injured. Strength training might be a good way to go - focus on the areas that aren't in pain right now. Isometrics are a good bet too. You can do them without any equipment or a lot of movement and you get quick results.
