ExerBeat... Using Wii for Exercise

Saturday, February 09, 2013

I've had a Wii for about 3 years now. My husband gave it to me our first Christmas we got married. I've used it on and off for exercise (mostly Gold's Gym Cardio and Wii Fit) but lately I've discovered a few new games I like. Yesterday I started using My Fitness Coach 2 and then today I tried out ExerBeat. My Fitness Coach 2 gives you workouts, challenges, and even nutrition info (meals). I love ExerBeat so far. One of my favorite features is the Around the World Challenge. This morning I started out in Greenwich, England and 37 minutes later I was in Athens, Greece.

Here's a link to the YouTube Trailer of the game if you're interested:

Do you use the Wii for workouts? If so, what games have you tried? Any favorites?

My favorite is Walk It Out. You walk an island, to music, "developing" it. Each step you take earns you points that you use to put up trees, buildings, plants, etc. I've completed it twice and am on my third time around now.

I also play tennis using Wii Sports, and boxing on Sports Resort. I have Exerbeat but haven't used it lately. I'll have to try it again.

I loved your blog! I have used my wii for the past 4 yrs, faithfully, every day if possible, but only the wii fit. You have opened up a whole new world for me! I was thinking of looking into some new exercise dvd's, and now I know which one I'm going to look for! Thanks again, and I hope you have a blessed weekend! emoticon
